In an effort to increase the security of its schools and facilities, Stafford County Public Schools is installing a video intercom entry system at each of its 30 schools and 4 operating sites.
The system, called AIPHONE, will be installed at the main school entrance and allow the main entrance doors to be locked during the school day and still permit visitors to enter (all exterior school doors are locked during the school day). Visitors will push a button on an intercom located on the wall by the main front door of the school. A security camera at the door will allow a school staff member to view the visitor on a screen inside the building. The visitor will be asked for identification and the reason of the visit. The School Board and staff of Stafford County Public Schools extend our gratitude to the many community members who served on our advisory committees during the 2013-2014 school year. The dedication and commitment of these citizens help ensure Stafford County children receive a quality education. The advisory committees compile data, analyze problems, summarize findings and develop recommendations for the Stafford County School Board.
The School Board appointed advisory committees for this year were: Capital Improvements Planning, Career and Technical Education, Finance and Budget, Fine and Performing Arts, Gifted, School Health, Special Education and Technology.
Are you interested in becoming an advisory committee member for 2014-2015? Any Stafford County citizen who wishes to serve on any School Board advisory committee for the 2014-2015 school year should submit an application by Monday, August 11, 2014, to Office of Public Information, SCPS, 31 Stafford Avenue, Stafford, VA 22554. The application form is available at the Alvin York Bandy Administrative Complex or access the link on our website below.
Class lists will be posted on the MBES front doors at 4:00 PM on Thursday, Aug. 28th.
Come meet your 2014-2015 classroom teacher from 4:30-6:45 on Thursday, Aug. 28th. Drop off your school supplies so you don't have to carry them on the bus.
Don't forget to visit the cafeteria for lunch accounts, PTO, car-rider numbers, etc.
